Educational Perspectives
I have always been curious and interested in learning about… things. I don’t just have an interest in one particular thing; I've always wanted to know something about everything. Learning excites me. Luckily, I have the best job in the world for someone who has a desire to learn. My job title is “teacher,” but my students take on this roll so frequently that oftentimes the line that defines the two becomes blurred. I love it.
For me, success in the classroom always comes back to expectations. When I think about the people who have influenced me the most in life, they were all very different people who had one thing in common. They all believed in my capacity to succeed at a higher level than I assumed I could. They pushed me to be better. In the classroom it is so important to keep this in mind. Students will continuously rise to whatever our expectations are. When I create my expectations, I try to always realize the potential of each student while keeping in mind their individual limitations.
